Existing Conditions

THE CONCEPT
This old modern building was originally designed by Mr.Jane Sakolthanaraks back in 1968 which was firstly used as a multi-purpose hall for conferences and events of all type for CU alumni.
Later on, the building was renovated several times to expand building areas for offices and more storages.
Our main concept aimed at reviving the original modern design into a more contemporary way. Many functions were relocated to change the perspective and perception of the users toward the building, i.e., WCs next to the entrance was transformed into a lobby lounge. Fully-exposed steel roof structures represent the contemporary use of material and the concept of deconstruction while vertical striped concrete facades blend the renovated existing building and the extended part together.
